METROPOLITAN

Pastor Richard Allen Gerald is a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina. He has been married for 33 years to the former Vivian A. McGowan of Pell City, Alabama. They have two young adult children, Brandon Gerald and Brittne Dailey (LaDarius) and they have one ‘PRECIOUS’ granddaughter, Sanaa Dailey. 😊

Before engaging in full-time ministry, Pastor Gerald worked as a Radiology Technologist from 1988 to 1997 at Highsmith Rainey Memorial Hospital in Fayetteville, NC. Pastor Gerald served an eight-year enlistment in the United States Army Reserve and was honorably discharged in 1993. He received Associate and Bachelor Degrees in Biblical Studies from Carolina College of Biblical Studies (Fayetteville, N.C., 1999 & 2001), and the Master of Divinity Degree from the Triangle School of Theology; formerly the Apex School of Theology (Durham, N.C., 2011).

Pastor Gerald has faithfully tended to the Metropolitan Baptist Church Congregation where he is affectionately known as ‘Pastor Rick’, for 18 years.  

Pastor Gerald Heart's desire is to help develop spiritually mature disciples of Jesus Christ, whose lives are enabled to stand the test of time (Luke 6:46-49).
